Piper Companies is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III (BMET III) to join an academic medical center located in Princeton, New Jersey. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity, and is 5 days on site. Responsibilities for the BMET III: <ul><li>Maintains, repairs and calibrates biomedical and patient care medical devices.</li><li>Technical support for low, medium and high risk equipment.</li><li>Follows Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) recommendations.</li><li>Performs quality assurance inspections in accordance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.</li><li>Technical training and mentorship to junior Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMET) concerning patient care medical devices.</li><li>Assists with training of clinical personnel on user operation and maintenance of equipment, as needed.</li><li>Assists with equipment planning and pre-purchase evaluations of new equipment.</li><li>Assists with the acceptance inspections, the relocation of existing, and with the installation of new equipment when required.</li><li>Collaborates with Information Services to ensure Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance and connectivity of biomedical devices.</li><li>Understands and complies with Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations.</li></ul> Requirements for the BMET III: <ul><li>5-10 years' experience troubleshooting and maintaining electromechanical systems, Clinical Engineering/BMET, and field experience.</li><li>Understanding of medical PCs, peripherals, medical network hardware, clinical network applications and cybersecurity.</li><li>Expertise in the field of biomedical equipment repair, OEM training preferred.</li><li>AAMI certification preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of diagnostic tools, test equipment and software, where applicable.</li><li>Experience working with medical hardware, software and equipment products.</li><li>Understand medical device usage within a health system environment.</li><li>Knowledge of healthcare operations and the use of medical technology in the practicing.</li></ul> Compensation / Benefits for the BMET III: <ul><li>$35 - $42 / hour pay rate</li><li>Contract to hire opportunity</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package</li></ul> Keywords: Biomedical, bmet, equipment technician, bmet 3, bmet iii, medical, medical device, princeton, contract, contract to hire, on site, onsite, maintenance, maintain, repair, calibrate, patient care, technical support, integration, oem, original equipment manufacturers, aem, alternative equipment maintenance, inspections, training, clinical, user operation, pre-purchase, health insurance portability, hipaa, joint commission, field, medical hardware, aami, diagnostic, health system, #LI-zs1, #LI-onsite
