- A Biomedical Equipment Technician performs safety testing, preventive maintenance, repairs and pre-acceptances on biomedical equipment and systems in a manner that is efficient and responsive to the customer's needs.
- The purpose of this position is to provide our customers with cost-effective biomedical equipment maintenance, efficient technical support, accurate clinical support, and assist in educational needs, in order to promote and ensure the safe and effective use of biomedical equipment, or equipment used in the clinical environment.
- This includes, but is not limited to electronic patient and non-patient equipment used in the patient care area, electronic equipment designed for diagnostic, therapeutic, and laboratory applications.
- Develop and maintain biomedical equipment inventory and history records, coordinate equipment service inspections, and implement plans to reduce equipment failure and increase reliability, while minimizing the risk to patients and staff.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Post High School Vocational / Military / Specialized Training as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - AA degree; Bachelor's degree in Clinical /Biomedical (BME) or AAMI Certification preferred.
