- The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maine (UMaine) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in transportation engineering.
- The desired areas of expertise may include but are not limited to rural transportation systems, rural mobility, pedestrian and bicycle safety in rural areas, multimodal rural transportation systems, smart transportation systems, network modeling, public transportation, transportation mobility, transportation-related artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity.

- Candidates will engage in instruction of fundamental and applied transportation engineering courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and enhance the Department’s existing curriculum; establish and maintain a nationally competitive, externally funded research program; author high-quality peer-reviewed publications; train M.S. and Ph. D. students; and actively engage in service to the profession, university, and state.
- The successful candidate will be strongly encouraged to obtain licensure as a professional engineer (PE) before promotion to associate professor.
