- The ideal candidate should be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice and Criminology including but not limited to, criminological theory, research methods, and senior seminar, and hold a Ph. D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology.

- The candidate is also expected to be proficient in academic advising and student mentoring, program and curricular development, and other institutional service activities.
- Ph. D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology from an accredited university, with a preliminary or comprehensive exam in Criminal Justice or Criminology.
