- Posting Details Position Information Job Title Assistant or Associate Professor Posting Number P1616F Position Summary Information Job Description Summary POSITION : The Department of Nutritional Sciences invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 16, 2024.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong nutritional biochemistry background and experience with and teaching to students in nutrition or related fields.
- This position requires the faculty member to: Teach undergraduate and graduate nutrition, dietetics, and nutritional biochemistry-related courses Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, and effective communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrate a variety of instructional delivery methods, including on-line course delivery Establish an independent research program that complements current research in the department.
- Examples of research areas that complement departmental strengths include, but are not limited to: nutrition, obesity, diabetes, cancer, neuroscience, and metabolic diseases Seek intramural and extramural funding, publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals, present research at conferences Supervise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students SETTING : The Department of Nutritional Sciences employs 11 faculty members and is an academic unit within the College of Human Sciences.
- The department offers a baccalaureate degree with program options in Nutrition Science, Dietetics, and Wellness, as well as master, and doctoral degree programs in Nutrition.
