- Develops and maintains operating procedures and guidelines for animal care staff and facility users; ensures compliance per IACUC and other regulatory agencies; develops and enforces procedures to ensure current and continued compliance with regulations; maintains compliance-related records, information, and/or reports.
- Plans and optimizes use of laboratory animal resources (staff, facilities, equipment); optimizes space utilization and approves all facility renovations.
- Supervises the procurement of laboratory animals for research projects from outside vendors and institutions in accordance with all government regulations and campus policies; leads decisions on products and vendors best suited to researcher's needs; manages and oversees procurement and inventory control of all equipment, feed, bedding, and husbandry supplies.
- 2 years lab animal technician and supervisory/lead technician experience.
- 5 years related experience in the field of laboratory animal science and/or animal facility management.
