- Prepares and reviews traffic signal, signing, striping, traffic control and interconnect plans, specifications, and estimates; evaluates traffic impacts and parking studies; ensures inclusion of necessary traffic mitigation, control, and safety measures in conformance with federal, state, and local policies and guidelines
- o Reviews and evaluates public improvement plans, including street improvement plans, sewer plans, storm drain plans, grading plans, subdivision final maps, and easement documents
- Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer, Traffic Engineer, or Engineer-in-Training issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is desirable
- Knowledge of traffic-related practices, principles, and regulations pertaining to traffic flow, traffic speeds, circulation patterns, roadway capacity, sight visibility, traffic accidents, and signal interconnect and the ability to ensure compliance with these requirements and safety standards
- Knowledge of and ability to read and understand traffic signal, signing, striping, and interconnect plans and evaluate them to ensure inclusion of necessary traffic mitigation, control, and safety
