- The principal function of the Assistant City Engineer is to apply professional engineering judgement aiding the planning, permit review, construction, inspection and management of residential, commercial, and capital improvement projects.
- This position regularly participates in the scoping, review and recommendation for acceptance or denial of studies analyzing potential impacts to the City's Transportation, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer and Water infrastructure.
- The Assistant City Engineer prepares reports and memos that aid the City decision making process related to development and growth.
- The Assistant City Engineer has regular interaction with the general public, developers, contractors, other design professionals, City Commissions, City Council and neighboring jurisdictions.
- The work is performed under the general supervision of the City Engineer with latitude to exercise independent professional judgment and initiative.
