- The Department of Computer Science in the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science (SES) at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) invites applications for five tenure-track and tenured positions in all areas of computer science at the assistant, associate, and full professor ranks.
- Candidates applying at the rank of Associate or Full should have a track record of success in scholarship, funded research, teaching, mentoring, and contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Headquartered in a brand new, 65,000 square foot, state-of-the-art academic building, our department is home to innovative research labs on AI, machine learning, computer vision, big data analytics, programming languages, cryptography, computer security, and software systems.
- Our researchers are the core of the Stevens Institute for Artificial Intelligence, an interdisciplinary research center at the forefront of AI that brings together over 100 faculty members across the University.
- The number of Ph. D. students has grown by 50% in the last few years; annual research expenditures of the 25 tenure and research track faculty are in the order of $4M, supported by $25.8M in active research awards from sponsors including the NSF, NIH, DARPA, ONR, and NSA. Recent awards include second place in the Alexa Grand Prize SocialBot Challenge in 2023, and first place in the global TCS CodeVita coding challenge in 2021.
