- Reporting to the Associate Librarian for Collection Strategies, the Assessment and Special Projects Librarian works to collect, manage and analyze data in order to recommend strategies for optimal access to the scholarly materials needed to support the College's curriculum and faculty and student research.
- Projects may include assessing needs for new services, implementation of new systems or services, or supporting other library activities such as instruction during peak periods of need.
- Opportunities for ongoing participation in research and instructional services and/or materials selection may be available depending on qualifications and interest.
- As a member of a friendly, vibrant college community, committed to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences, the Assessment and Special Projects Librarian will operate within a newly reorganized Learning Commons structure designed to support student learning and success through collections, services and educational programming.
- Preferred Qualifications Experience with creating collection development and management policies and strategies;Academic coursework in statistics and/or data analysis;Experience working with publishers and/or database vendors;Experience with data visualization tools;Knowledge of scholarly communications issues, tools, and resources;Familiarity with electronic resource licensing practices;Experience working with sensitive or confidential data.
