- Animal Services Officers provide information and resources to help people and animals.
- Duties also include responding to complaints reported by the public; capturing stray or loose animals; removing dead animals; investigating biting incidents; issuing warnings and citations for animal control ordinance violations; caring for captured animals; cleaning animal shelter facilities and vehicles; euthanizing animals; testifying in court when required; answering and dispatching calls; and participating in a dispatch duty rotation.
- Experience directly related to animal control preferred.
- Must have basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office products; and have, or be able to obtain within specified timeframe, a valid Class C Texas driver's license, and Animal Control Officer, euthanasia and bite stick certifications.
- Irving Animal Services is a division of the Irving Police Department, and it maintains a safe and secure city by providing a healthy environment for humans and animals living in Irving.
