Incumbents are accountable for 1) order entry, 2) preparation and dispersion of prescribed medications, 3) insurance billing 4) cashiering/customer service, 5) taking inventory/stocking and tracking medication and supply orders, and 5) performing routine clerical/administrative tasks. </li></ul>Incumbents may oversee the operational dispensary. Incumbents are also accountable for: maintaining a clean and safe environment; using appropriate aseptic technique; handling controlled substances appropriately; completing all educational modules; attending regular staff meetings; keeping abreast of departmental changes/current FHS policy and procedures and The Joint Commission requirements. <ul><li>Essential Duties:*</li><li>Receives and enters pharmaceutical orders in systems.</li><li>Prepares and distributes medications in accordance with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) guidelines.</li><li>Maintains proper stock levels in assigned pharmacy locations.</li><li>Performs insurance billing and administrative support functions.</li><li>Contributes to the department’s safe and accurate operations.</li><li>Job Knowledge/Abilities:*</li><li>Knowledge of the standards, techniques and tools relating to pharmaceutical patient care.</li><li>Knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical patient care.</li><li>Knowledge of mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, basic algebra and calculations.</li><li>Ability to mix oral powders and compounded drugs and to prepare intravenous admixture and other parental drugs.</li><li>Ability to understand and use/apply I.V. admixture, automated distribution systems, outpatient services and decentralized pharmacy services.</li><li>Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.</li><li>Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.</li><li>Qualifications*</li><li>Education/Work Experience Requirements:*</li><li>Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy (including didactic courses and experiential rotations in pharmaceutical care).</li><li>Attainment of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.</li><li>Prior experience in an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy setting including anticoagulation services, primary care pharmacy services, etc. is preferred</li><li>Licensure/Certification:*</li><li>Licensure as a registered pharmacist by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.</li><li>Membership in professional organizations such as ASHP, ASCP, WSSHP, APHA is preferred.</li><li>Washington State Preceptor Certification within six months of hire if eligible or within six months after becoming eligible.</li><li>Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.</li><li>If classified as a Pharmacist-Ambulatory Certified: </li></ul>Current Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) certification is required. <ul><li>Pay Range* $67.28 - $85.27 /hour</li></ul>
