- Under the general supervision of the Director of Airfield and Grounds Maintenance, Airfield Manager, and the Airfield Supervisor, performs a variety of maintenance activities to repair and maintain pavements, grounds, utilities, gates and fencing on and around the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport and associated facilities.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as, large tractors, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, skid steer loaders with various attachments, asphalt rollers, concrete saws, crack sealers and other equipment in maintenance of airport pavements, as well as vehicles and machines involved in airport pavement marking and related equipment to maintain Authority owned property.
- Operates heavy equipment such as backhoes, rubber-tired front-end loaders, dump trucks, and large snow removal equipment (exceeding 26,000 lbs.)
- Must obtain and maintain airfield driving privileges and Air Traffic Control communications endorsement within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to effectively communicate over a two-way radio.
