- The Administrative Medical Assistant will work with patients to close gaps in care, provide insurance, referral, and prior authorization support, and may also conduct patient outreach to follow up on hospital admissions and discharges, obtain medical records and assist patients with pharmacy/medication questions.
- Duties also include but are not limited to: Tracking lab and diagnostic compliance, closing the loop with specialists by obtaining consult notes and records, assisting patients with question via telephone and patient portal message, assisting providers during preparation and pre visit planning, and maintaining health records by following the document management process.
- The Administrative Medical Assistant also will be required to help with Medical Assisting responsibilities as needed with duties including and not limited to: interviewing patient and obtaining reason for visit, room preparation, specimen collection and processing, medication administration, documentation in electronic health record and patient discharge.
