- Excellent accounting principles and financial reporting skills; clerical accounting methods, forms, and techniques; read, understand, and follow written directives; interpret and apply legal administration concepts of accounting and/or auditing functions; prepare comprehensive, clear, and concise accounting, auditing, and statistical reports and procedures; follow federal and state grant provisions; understand and stay up-to-date with laws and regulations influencing fiscal operations.
- Proficient use of cost accounting methods and procedures; program revenues and claiming; techniques used in statistical sampling and flow-charting; determine proper accounting code and classification in routine transactions.
- Ability to role model and promote CDA’s vision, mission, and values; and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; use tact, diplomacy and discretion when working with staff and clients; coach, develop, and guide employees; ability to remain calm and defuse challenging situations; provide encouragement, and an optimistic outlook; communicate clearly and ensure a good flow of communication with peers, coworkers, and others within the agency.
- Proficient use of office equipment, such as copy and fax machines, calculators, scanners, phone system and file cabinets in a safe manner; use of Adobe and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Power point, and Outlook; experience creating complex financial systems including expertise in Excel; proficient writing skills and keen attention to detail.
- Provide regular technical guidance and support to uphold an understanding of CDA’s Accounting department’s quality standards, policies and procedures, and state rules and regulations.
