- The Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in the life of an individual with autism.
- By using the techniques proven through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the BT will work one-on-one with a child to reduce, redirect, and even eliminate behaviors.
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in the home, school, and community environments
- Follow an individualized treatment plan tailormade by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to address and improve deficits
- Related fields and roles include paraprofessional, special education, teacher assistance, classroom aide, early childhood, childcare, nanny, babysitter, direct care worker, direct support specialist, therapeutic staff support, home care, behavior support, behavior interventionist, or healthcare/pediatrics
