- The job consists of performing duties required to plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, fit, braze tubing, thread, weld complex piping, system components and weld coded, and noncoded pressure vessel assemblies and subassemblies, working with ferrous, nonferrous metals, using conventional or automatic submerged arc welding and difficult positions of stick, tig, and manual arc welding of Navy equipment.
- Lay out from center lines or create own layouts as required to locate and fabricate all internal, external part details, angular, radial, longitudinal relationships.
- Preparing material for welding by cleaning, bead blasting, and or grinding.
- Weld parts per drawing details; including internal and external components, such as heads, lugs, brackets, baffles, piping, valves, fittings, oil coolers, water boxes, covers, make all connections.
- Applicant must pass a Navy Military Code Standard 2” diameter pipe test with a backing ring in the 6G position using E7018 filler material in order to be hired.
