- Work involves ensuring construction projects meet with City specifications and standards; reviewing submittals for materials and mix designs; reviews right-of-way permits; reviewing excavation permits; coordinating with other City departments to install electric conduits; installing street signs; and scheduling water main shut down and tie-ins.
- Inspects streets, driveways, sidewalks, water, sewer, and storm-sewer construction projects for compliance with standards and codes.
- Refers to Heath Standard Drawing for Public Work Construction, Texas Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction, Standard Specifications for Public Work Construction North Central Texas, policy and procedure manuals, codes/laws/ regulations, publications and reference texts, etc.
- Department as they pertain to the performance of duties of the Construction Inspector.
- Requires the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color; requires the visual acuity to determine depth perception, peripheral vision, inspection for small parts; preparing and analyzing written or computer data, etc.
