- Ensuring that all activities within the Laboratory are carried out in a manner, consistent with NIST and other federal policies related to safety and encourages and enables a safe work environment for all staff.
- Rendering expert technical, consultative, and advisory services to the NIST Director, to other senior officials and scientists in NIST, Federal, state and local agencies, cooperating institutions, universities, affected groups, and industrial organizations in all areas concerned with standards and technology issues regarding advanced communications.
- Responsible for maintaining extensive contacts with many different sectors of industry and government to benchmark best practices in advanced communication policies and direction.
- As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level managerial capability and directly related to the experience outlined under the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and the Professional/Technical Qualifications (PTQs).
- Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
