- Role is under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of University Recreation and has direct responsibility for all aspects of day to day Aquatics programming and operations, as well as general risk management oversight for University Recreation.
- Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and manage aquatics student and non-student part-time employees, including Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Aquatics Undergraduate Assistants and Aquatics Assistants.
- Develop and implement in-services for Aquatics staff following Red Cross standards and best practices with a strong emphasis on skill-development, transferable work skills, staff empowerment, diversity and leadership.
- Work with the Assistant Director to oversee the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of the pool, including water chemistry, preventative maintenance, and large repairs/remodel projects
- Maintain, repair, and replace Aquatics equipment, including the pool lift, furniture, swimming and safety equipment.
