Oversees maintenance department daily operations by monitoring and driving department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building repairs); and monitoring and ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (i.e. OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT, etc.

Maintains safety of facility according to company policies and procedures by conducting safety sweeps; following forklift spotting procedures; following procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials; following company steel standard guidelines; and correcting and reporting unsafe situations to facility management.

Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering Manager, Maintenance Planner, and Plant Engineer to execute critical PM activities in order to maximize equipment uptime and improve internal customer service.

Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance of equipment to prevent mechanical failure. Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions.

Follows infection control guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing per policy, uses correct bag technique, disposal of hazardous waste according to policy and follows safety regulations.

Includes being able to be certified to prepare and process Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods shipments.
