Controls Engineer

Job Description

As a Trex Controls Engineer I, you'll provide design and support for instrumentation, PLC controls, and variable frequency that drives all production lines.

As a member of our Engineering team, you'll be helping us by maximizing the productivity and efficiency of our facilities.

DUTIES

* Participate in site safety programs designed to assure safe working conditions and eliminate any workplace accident.
* Develop and execute changes to PLC controls where necessary.
* Maintain the documentation for the electrical panels and PLC controls for each process.
* Support capital engineering projects for new equipment, including panel design, coordination with vendors for construction, PLC programming and new equipment startup.
* Be involved with PLC, drive, instrumentation, and electrical installations.
* Develop and review procedures and provide training for others to handle routine PLC control or electrical issues during normal off-hours.
* Provide off-shift troubleshooting if necessary.
* Conduct and maintain the necessary contacts for ensuring that PLC controls and equipment are current and that the necessary spare parts are available.

EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, along with experience in controls design and programming is required. If you've worked as a system engineer or a process control technician, you're Trex material for sure.
