Performs minor semi-skilled interior building maintenance and repairs such as painting, floor covering, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and other unskilled and semi-skilled trades work. This position receives work direction from the Head Custodian, Custodian Supervisor, Building Principal and/or Director of Maintenance.

Qualifications and skills:Ability to operate power tools such as table saws, chop saws, drills, nail guns, and other carpentry related tools. Must have working knowledge of building materials involved with various carpentry activities such as wood, plastic, aluminum, drywall, and insulation, etc.

Completes other various duties related to Painting, Carpentry, Flooring, Cabinetry, and related tasks, under the direction of the supervisor and/or designee. Repairs, protects and beautifies various interior and exterior surfaces in client facility providing painting and minor Carpentry work.

Demonstrated proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, maintenance, grounds maintenance, roofing, flooring, etc. Carpentry: Re-hanging and/or replacement of doors; repair and/or replacement of windows, floors, cabinets, etc.

The appropriate candidate for the Carpenter/Handyman position will be proficient in miscellaneous around the house type repairs like carpentry, basic plumbing, drywall, painting and basic electrical.

Performs general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
