The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) seek a hands-on engineer to focus on Linux DevOps and data management of complex, high-throughput biological and environmental data.

Core System Administration skills in Linux or Windows with demonstrated skills in Security, Active Directory, ACAS, Identity and Access Management, Zero Trust, and STIG remediation experience. Skills in delivery areas of Cloud, IT Infrastructure, Architecture, and Security as well as hands on core system administration skills in Linux or Windows.

Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills:- Python Programming Language- Symmetric and Asymmetric encryption- Key management and lifecycles- Linux shell scripting and operating system administration- HTTPS protocol and TLS Ciphers- Ansible/Puppet provisioning languages- Terraform infrastructure as code language.

Working knowledge of at least four (4) of the following areas: Windows Server, Active Directory, Server Virtualization, Exchange Administration, Storage Networks, Citrix, various Unix operating systems (OS) (e.g., Linux or AIX), and Local Network Connectivity and Wide Area Connectivity.

Proficiency in VMware associated technologies such as SAN storage, Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Windows OS, Linux OS(Five) 5 years Linux Server administration experience. (Five) 5 years or more of systems engineering/administration experience in Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

Experience with variety of operating systems and threats that target them including Windows, UNIX/LINUX, and MacOS. Proficiency with Linux, Mac, and Windows endpoints. Create a comprehensive view of incident-related data from multiple security technologies, including but not limited to a Security Information Event Management (SIEM) platform, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Firewalls, Anti-Malware solutions, and insider threat tooling.

Linux System Admin. Eight (8) years of experience working within a Windows Server and an Active Directory environment with one (1) year of experience working within at least four of the following disciplines: Server Virtualization, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, System Center Configuration Manager, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Addressable Storage (NAS), and/or Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) required.

Systems Security or Administration certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, Linux+, Security+, Network+, Cloud+, CCNA, or CCSA are preferred. Strong familiarity or experience with the administration, securing, hardening, patching or maintenance of one or more server, network, or application platforms such as Windows, Unix, Linux, Cisco, Juniper, Apache, IIS, various Middleware platforms, secure software development environments, cloud platforms or other relevant technology areas.
