{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"fff4adaf9d0ef35dfca20125","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/fff4adaf9d0ef35dfca20125","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/fff4adaf9d0ef35dfca20125","title":"Senior Subsystem Validation Engineer","description":"Job Summary\nThe Senior Subsystem Validation Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing methods and techniques to validate and enhance the performance of various electro‑optical subsystems.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nReview of subsystem design including integration of optics, electronics, firmware, software and thermal design.\n\nDesigning and building laboratory setups comprised of light sources, detectors, switches, function generators, oscilloscopes, etc.\n\nDeveloping software scripts for data collection and data analysis.\n\nDeveloping software scripts and algorithms to perform data analysis and extract key performance parameters.\n\nDesign and run experiments to validate subsystem functionality.\n\nWriting validation plans for the characterization of new subsystem designs.\n\nExperience and Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science with 6+ years of industry experience.\n\nAt least 5 years of experience validating and testing optical systems.\n\nExperience working with optical and/or electrical test equipment such as power meters, optical backscatter reflectometers (OBR), optical spectrum analyzers (OSA), oscilloscopes, function generators (AWG), vector network analyzers (VNA).\n\nExperience with high‑speed electro‑optical devices and test equipment, such as electro‑optical modulators, RF detectors, pulsed lasers, optical sampling oscilloscopes.\n\nExperience developing test methods and optimization, tuning/calibration algorithms.\n\nAbility to understand and write scripts to communicate and control instruments.\n\nExperience with Python is preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with programming CPUs to interface with FPGAs is a plus.\n\nSalary Range\nU.S. Base Pay Range: $160,000 – $180,000 USD\n\nBay Area Pay Range: $183,000 – $200,000 USD\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nPsiQuantum provides equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees.
