{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ffe35fb4b9aaa02d3a00a8d2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ffe35fb4b9aaa02d3a00a8d2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ffe35fb4b9aaa02d3a00a8d2","title":"Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer IV (Staff)","description":"Job Overview\nThis position is contingent upon the program award expected in September 2026.\n\nAbout the Role\nThe Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Subsystems and CoreSim Team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling spacecraft systems in a harsh, zero‑g environment.\n\nThis position will report directly to the GN&C Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization of Lockheed Martin Space.\n\nAs a GN&C analyst, you will support and lead a program within multiple satellite buses in Lockheed Martin’s portfolio including the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, analyze, and optimize GN&C subsystem dynamics and control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.\n\nDevelop and verify high‑fidelity simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ environments.\n\nSupport system integration, test, and verification activities to ensure subsystem performance meets program requirements.\n\nCollaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the program life cycle, from requirements through verification and validation.\n\nContribute to mission operations and post‑launch performance assessments, as needed.\n\nLead a small team of engineers to execute on program milestones and support system‑level design reviews.\n\nOwn the GN&C subsystem output, including plans for PDR, CDR, SIQT, delivery and launch through the design life cycle.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nAt least 5+ years of related experience.\n\nPost‑secondary degree or training in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.\n\nSubject‑matter expertise in spacecraft controller design and optimization.\n\nExperience developing and verifying performance of simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink and C++.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nExperience with CORESIM.\n\nFlight software development experience with autocode to C++ and Python.\n\nAttitude determination and Kalman filter experience.\n\nMulti‑body dynamics experience.\n\nFamiliarity with GN&C hardware suite for space applications.\n\nExperience through a spacecraft program life cycle, including requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing.\n\nAbility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment.\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.\n\nActive security clearance.\n\nSecurity Clearance / Work Authorization\n\nPosition requires the selected employee to be a U.S. citizen.\n\nEligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret with adjudicated SCI (TS/SCI) clearance for long‑term employment on this program.\n\nSalary & Benefits\nAnnual base salary range: $123,500 - $217,695 for California, Massachusetts, and NewYork (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, NewJersey, Vermont, Washington, or WashingtonDC.
