{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ffe27ee1e8ffd3dedd972ce2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ffe27ee1e8ffd3dedd972ce2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ffe27ee1e8ffd3dedd972ce2","title":"Mechanical Engineer","description":"Job Summary/Objective:\nAs part of Orion Engineers + Constructors' Engineering Services Mechanical Engineering Discipline, the Senior Engineer is responsible to coordinate and manage engineering and technical development projects ensuring the highest standards of work and quality controls are in place, and all work is completed on schedule while meeting the utmost quality requirements.\nEssential Functions:\nProvide mechanical engineering services and technical support to customers.\nMentor and lead the process engineering team.\nOffer technical oversight and assign tasks to junior engineers.\nRespond to technical questions and provide guidance.\nLead engineering projects and proposals, including attending meetings and directing support staff.\nCommunicate resource needs to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.\nEnsure project progress aligns with deadlines and quality standards.\nVisit client sites to support project execution and proposals.\nAct as an on-site interface with the back office.\nCommunicate regularly with the team, customers, and supervisors.\nEnsure the application of Quality Management Systems (QMS).\nRecord and track progress according to key performance indicators (KPI).\nCreate work orders and standard operating instructions.\nValidate technical content of non-conformities in documentation.\nStay updated with the latest developments in process engineering.\nLearn and apply client standards for field installations.\nBe available during scheduled work hours for remote work.\nTravel occasionally for fieldwork and construction support.\nMake important decisions under pressure with potential business or safety impacts.\nLead by example in safety matters.\nManage workload and update master data documentation.\nProduce detailed calculations, technical reports, and design sketches.\nProvide orientation support to new colleagues and trainees.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWork Environment:\nNormal business office environment with moderate noise.\nApproved Remote Environment\nThe position typically performs tasks within assigned office facility but may require site visits to customer facilities.\nOccasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles. For site visits, safety glasses and other safety equipment are required depending on task. Orion will provide all personnel with standard safety equipment.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.\nOccasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nAbility to operate standard office equipment and keyboard.\nMust be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs.\nMust be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations.\nMust be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate.\nLifting up to 25 pounds may be required.\nTravel:\nSite visits could be required with little or no notice.\nMust be willing to travel overnight and work out of town as required.\nTravel may be required between Office Locations.\nSkills & Qualifications\nExperience leading project design and managing project teams, budgets, scopes, and schedules.\nProven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.\nExperience working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.\nStrong technical and practical engineering skills with a track record of delivering quality work.\nKnowledge of process engineering fundamentals and basic requirements of other engineering fields.\nFamiliarity with local and international standards and regulatory requirements.\nTeamwork, flexibility, integrity, and professionalism.\nProficiency in process engineering software and CAD software like AutoCAD.\nSkills in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).\nAbility to set priorities and organize tasks effectively.\nAbility to read and understand policies, procedures, and technical documents.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nCommitment to high-quality standards.\nReliability, punctuality, and a good attendance record.\nValid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements and obtain a TWIC card if needed.\nAbility to pass background checks and drug/alcohol tests.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.\nMinimum of 15 years of experience in Mechanical/Design Engineering or a related field.\nRegistration as a Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
