CV Resources is actively engaged on the search for a well-rounded financial leader to step into the role of Assistant VP of Accounting at a national building materials company. This key player will collaborate closely with the executive team to shape and refine fiscal strategies, ensuring robust systems and practices for financial governance, compliance, and risk oversight. You’ll be at the helm of the accounting department, driving excellence and innovation.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership Build and nurture a high-performing accounting team: hire, onboard, and guide staff.Define roles and responsibilities, setting clear expectations and providing actionable feedback.Conduct performance evaluations and maintain ongoing communication regarding policies and procedures. Financial Oversight Supervise the management of the general ledger and create managerial reports for various business units.Guarantee accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in line with industry standards.Aid in the preparation of periodic financial statements and oversee daily cash management.Handle monthly accruals for diverse categories including accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll.Develop and enforce financial controls, ensuring proper separation of duties and compliance.Oversee the preparation of financial documents like compliance reports, and budgets.Support annual audit processes with external auditors. Inventory Management Design and enforce corporate guidelines for inventory control.Oversee record-keeping, data accuracy, and conduct regular inventory audits.Collaborate with division leaders to tailor inventory reporting and manage reserve parameters.Report on obsolete or damaged inventory. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA certification required.At least seven years of progressive experience in accounting, with a minimum of three years in a managerial role.Proficient in summarizing and presenting financial insights to executive leaders.Extensive experience working with auditors, managing internal controls, and collaborating with financial institutions and legal advisors.Proven track record in managing inventory counts and reconciliations across multiple states.Expertise in Excel; familiarity with Sage platforms is a plus.Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and a proactive approach.Highly organized with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to adapt to a fast-evolving environment and interact effectively across all organizational levels.Competent in reviewing and documenting staff performance.PandoLogic.
