Associate Attorney – General Liability | Commercial Litigation | Employment (Defense) California – Multiple Locations | Remote A nationally recognized litigation practice within a mid-sized, full-service firm (150+ attorneys; 250+ employees) is expanding its California team. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with a senior equity partner who leads a national fiduciary litigation and D&O defense practice that is now experiencing significant growth in general liability matters due to a major national client expansion. The Role You will manage a growing and strategically structured caseload while gaining exposure to both sophisticated fiduciary/D&O litigation and general liability matters. Expected Caseload Approximately 15–25 active matters (ramping over first 6 months) Mix of: Complex fiduciary & D&O litigation General liability defense Settlement-focused files (releases, policy limit disclosures, negotiated resolutions) 1,900 billable hour requirement Up to $6,000 per quarter for exceeding billable thresholds Additional discretionary year-end bonuses and salary increases Strong leadership advocacy for high-performing attorneys Competitive salary up to $190,000 , depending on experience Who They’re Looking For Hiring across experience levels: 2–3 Year Associates Ready to take on increasing independence Mid-Level / Senior Associates Experience handling complex matters Comfortable leading cases independently Interested in long-term leadership growth Ideal Background Licensed in California Civil litigation experience (fiduciary, D&O, insurance defense, general liability preferred) Strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple matters effectively Motivated by long-term opportunity and succession potential The firm embraced remote work well before COVID and offers hybrid or fully remote flexibility This is an exceptional opportunity for attorneys seeking sophisticated litigation work combined with genuine long-term career growth within a stable and expanding national practice.
