Closing Date: Position is open until filledPosition SummaryThis is a professional teaching position with the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy (SUIMA). An employee in this position uses the Montessori philosophy to provide Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy students with a developmentally appropriate learning environment meeting the physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and cultural needs of the child. This position is responsible to communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child’s progress in each domain area. This position is a grade E13; pay rate is $63,064.00/year.Education And ExperienceMust have BA/BS in Elementary Education or related field.Must have a current State-issued teaching license.Must have computer experience and be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.Must be Montessori certified at the level of the teaching assignment or obtain certification within 2 years of hire.Must have and maintain a current Infant/child/adult CPR and First Aid certificate or obtain within 6 months of hire.Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.Preferred QualificationsBA/BS in Elementary Education in the content area specific to the teaching assignment.Current State-issued teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood EducationMA degree in Education in the content area specific to the teaching assignment.Possession of a valid driver’s license for state of residency and insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.CompanySouthern Ute Indian TribeJob Location Ignacio, COHow To ApplyPlease apply online at: careers.southernute.com/pfund Hiring Preference TERO Preference.
