A better future?\nJob Description\nCOMPONENT-BASED RELEASE (CBR) ANALYST\nDUNCAN, SC – DUNCAN PLANT\n\nThe Component‑Based Release (CBR) Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining all component‑level releases within the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and associated production systems. This role ensures accurate communication of requirements to suppliers, maintains the integrity of bills of material (BOM), and supports production readiness through precise planning, documentation, and data management. The CBR Analyst is accountable for meeting daily and weekly release accuracy targets, resolving discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement in material flow and inventory control.\n\nThe Role:\nYour work will include, but not be limited to:\nRelease Management & MRP Integrity\nAnalyze daily/weekly customer releases and communicate discrepancies to the customer.\nGenerate, maintain, and validate component‑based releases in the MRP/SAP system.\nEnsure accuracy of demand signals, lead times, and planning parameters.\nIdentify, analyze, and correct release discrepancies to prevent production impact.\nEliminate release errors in SAP.\nCommunicate weekly volume mixes to Production, IT, Materials, and Quality teams.\nMonitor customer releases for volume changes (increases/decreases).\nReview daily schedules for potential shortages and ensure continuous material flow.\nBOM Management, Engineering Changes & Data Control\nUpdate BOMs and manage engineering changes, breakpoint coordination, and effective dates.\nPerform monthly BOM audits with all departments.\nCheck BOMs for changes/errors when issues arise.\nMaintain and audit BOM‑related data, including obsolete component identification.\nCoordinate with Engineering, Finance, and Materials to ensure accurate master data views.\nSupplier Communication & Performance\nIssue timely, accurate releases to suppliers and confirm acknowledgment.\nWork with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, quantity discrepancies, or release questions.\nFollow up with suppliers and carriers, including “hot” shipments and ETA tracking (including after hours).\nTrack and document supplier performance related to release accuracy and delivery.\nReport discrepancies and damages (e.g., airbag loads, FCA forms).\nContinued\nInventory, Documentation & Reporting\nDetect/correct stock discrepancies between header/CBR components and consignment inventory.\nMonitor component inventory levels in accordance with PFEP requirements.\nSupport cycle counts, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions for variances.\nMaintain documentation for release activities, supplier communication, and deviations.\nOrganize and maintain customer reporting for first seats with new changes.\nPrepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly CBR performance reports.\nMaintain material check records, receiving error records, vendor changes, breakpoints, and MCR summaries.\nTrace shipments, enter PTR/PTA in systems, and complete associated forms.\nOrder post‑model service materials when required.\nCross‑Functional Support & Collaboration\nCollaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Production, Quality, IT, Logistics, and Expediting on material issues.\nParticipate in process walks to identify risks at job stations.\nProvide operational support during temporary change requests (TCRs).\nSupport department projects, data cleanup, and system improvement initiatives.\nCompliance, Safety & Operational Excellence\nEnsure adherence to IATF, customer-specific requirements, and internal compliance standards.\nMaintain compliance with workplace legislation (OHSA, WSIB, Employment Standards, Human Rights, etc.).\nFollow plant health, safety, and environmental processes.\nUse required PPE and report hazards or unsafe conditions.\nParticipate in investigations, 8D problem‑solving, and corrective/preventive actions.\nContribute to continuous improvement to reduce inventory, improve accuracy, and enhance flow.\nProvide night coverage when required.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nParticipate in semi‑annual plant inventories.\nAssist with miscellaneous duties assigned by the department manager.\nWork safely and ensure protection of self, coworkers, and stakeholders.\nQualifications\nYour Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Business, or related field.\n2–4 years of experience in materials, planning, scheduling, or supplier release management.\nExperience with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.\nComputer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work with cross‑functional teams.\n\nBonus if you have:\n\nExperience with BOM management or engineering change control.\nLean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement training.\nPrevious experience in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit‑based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
