If this is intriguing to you, read on!\nPRIMARY FUNCTION\nCreate concepts, designs, details, and engineering simulations for special automated equipment, tooling, dies, molds, and fixtures.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nApplication of design techniques utilizing knowledge of the following mechanical elements:\nPowered prime movers\nConveyors & material handling\nTransmission components\nBearings and related components\nSensors\nApplication of design expertise in the follow specific areas preferred:\nSynchronous automation\nNon-Synchronous automation\nManual and lean equipment\nHydraulic & manual workholding fixtures\nMilling, turning & gaging workholding fixtures\nHeat exchanger core assembly equipment\nCrimping equipment & dies\nMolds & corrugation equipment\nGages\nMulti-station systems\nFunctional test equipment\nStandalone equipment\nUtilize engineering acumen in the following disciplines:\nGD & T techniques\nSolidWorks CAD\nEngineering techniques including safety & ergonomics\nManufacturing techniques\nControls engineering techniques\nDesign innovation using creativity\nStudy requirements and confer with project stakeholders to satisfy design-related challenges, including dimensional, service, manufacturing, and cost and schedule issues.\nCreate design concepts utilizing preliminary sketches & layouts.\nCreate detail drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks & DraftSight).\nEngage in design confirmation activities, including simulations, FEA & animations\nModify designs to improve performance.\nSelect purchased components to incorporate into designs.\nCreate technical documentation for equipment operation designed for instruction manuals as required.\nRedline & revise drawings.\nCreate sequence of events and powered elements charts.\nEngage in debug and development activities.\nWork within quality system parameters as required.\nCommunicate with team members and managers to receive instructions and coordinate activities.\nUtilize ERP system (Epicor).\nEngage in assisting junior or mid-level designers in their development of engineering skills while partnering on projects\nAssume a lead designer role on projects, coordinating and leading multiple designers simultaneously.\nEngage in continuous improvement activities.\nRequirements:\nPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and supporting experience\nVocational education and supporting experience\nCompletion of apprenticeship in engineering and manufacturing environment\nHands-on experience in manufacturing\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nTypical office environment\nTypical manufacturing environment\nOccasional work-related travel required\nAhaus Tool & Engineering, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
