Above all, this role is about building, launching, operating, and continually improving a revenue-generating commercial system, not simply writing the code behind it.What You'll Do1. Build & Own the E-Commerce Storefront· Build and launch a modern Next.js storefront hosted on Vercel, working from an existing design specification and iterating on the experience weekly· Develop product pages that support industrial software purchasing requirements including product video, tiered pricing, variants, reviews, and search that understands industrial terminology· Implement checkout experiences supporting both credit card purchases and purchase-order workflows· Integrate FastSpring as the merchant of record for global subscription billing, tax handling, payments, and license delivery· Build and maintain FastSpring webhook integrations and subscription lifecycle workflows· Run the storefront in production, taking responsibility for monitoring, performance, incidents, reliability, and uptime· Continuously improve the buying experience based on customer behavior, funnel performance, and business priorities2. Commerce Systems & Business Integrations· Build the middleware connecting the storefront, FastSpring, HubSpot, NetSuite, and other commercial systems· Sync orders, subscriptions, renewals, and related transaction data into NetSuite, which serves as the company's ERP and system of record· Develop and maintain the cart-to-quote workflow that converts a customer's shopping cart into a HubSpot deal and feeds the company's CPQ and sales process· Maintain clean and reliable customer, order, subscription, and deal data across connected platforms· Read and work from third-party API documentation, webhooks, authentication models, and vendor integration patterns· Build integrations that are resilient, observable, and maintainable rather than simply connecting two APIs once· Develop working knowledge of NetSuite SuiteQL and the underlying commercial data model3. Own & Extend Rosie, Our Quote-to-Cash AI Agent· Take ownership of Rosie, Software Toolbox's existing quote-to-cash AI agent· Improve Rosie's prompts, workflows, capabilities, and reliability over time· Integrate Rosie directly into the storefront's quote workflow so that customers can move seamlessly from product discovery to an AI-assisted quote and follow-up process· Help create an agent-managed commercial pipeline where quotes can be generated, followed up, advanced, and closed with as little unnecessary manual effort as possible· Treat the storefront and Rosie as a single commercial system rather than separate engineering projects· Explore opportunities for AI agents to automate additional customer lifecycle, commerce, and operational workflows4. Conversion Analytics & Optimization· Own the storefront's conversion analytics strategy· Define and implement server-side GA4 events and meaningful commerce funnel tracking· Capture abandoned carts and route appropriate customer activity into HubSpot for remarketing and follow-up· Build visibility into how customers move from product discovery through checkout, quote creation, purchase, and renewal· Identify where customers drop out of the buying process and propose improvements· Design and run iterative tests to improve conversion, customer experience, and commercial performance· Use analytics to inform engineering priorities rather than treating measurement as an afterthought5.
