EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide instruction to students with a faculty workload consistent with full time instructor expectations.Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful instructional activities.Adhere to departmental course guidelines and ensure that content covers approved competencies.Fulfill the duties of clinical or lab instructor in supervision of students as applicable.Request supplies and materials for courses and recommend appropriate equipment or technology.Maintain required college records including (but not limited to) attendance, grades, and learning outcomes. Evaluate student performance and learning outcomes using methods appropriate to the courses.Participate in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation activities.Provide assistance to advisees and maintain proficiency in program requirements of advisees.Participate in department, division, and college-wide advising activities and training.Advise in the MAPS center during registration periods.Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.Attend all required department, division, and college-wide meetings.Assist in planning and conducting advisory committee meetings.Participate in on-campus professional development activities.Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position.Serve on committees as required.Participate in college-wide activities.Follow guidelines established by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).Professional development is encouraged to develop and maintain current expertise in clinical practice and teaching responsibilities, with particular focus on student assessment and evaluation, innovative instructional strategies, and approaches that support diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The candidate must have the ability to accommodate a flexible working schedule. Limited travel within service area. Overnight travel for clinical and professional meetings may be required. Evening and weekend clinical hours may be required.
