We aren’t building just another \"AI wrapper\"—we are codifying $200 billion of global procurement expertise into specialized AI engines that orchestrate agile sourcing strategies in real time.\n\nWe’ve shipped our MVP. We have the vision, the domain expertise, and the traction. We now need the engineering force to move from \"demo\" to \"industrial-grade autonomous agent.\"\n\nThe Challenge\nAs our first engineering hire, you aren't just joining a codebase; you are architecting the foundation of a category-defining product. You will take ownership of the system that writes back to SAP, manages multi-tenant security, and drives complex agentic loops.\n\nYou are the right person for this role if you are obsessed with:\n\nThe AI/Agentic Loop: Moving beyond prompting to building robust, observable, and evaluable agentic workflows.\n\nEngineering Rigor: Applying best-in-class software practices to a domain (Procurement/SAP) that is notoriously fragmented and \"messy.\"\n\nEnterprise Scale: Building software that is secure, compliant (SOC 2 ready), and resilient enough to sit inside the largest manufacturers on earth.\n\nThe Role\nYou will own the technical roadmap alongside the founders. You will have a seat at the table on customer calls, a voice in our product strategy, and complete autonomy over how we build.\n\nWeeks 1–30 Days (The \"Hardening\" Phase)\n\nSystem Architecture: Transitioning our codebase from \"founder-built MVP\" to a scalable, production-grade architecture.\n\nAutonomous Reliability: Designing evaluation frameworks (evals) and observability tooling to measure and improve agent performance.\n\nThe Integration Engine: Owning the complex SAP write-back logic, ensuring idempotency and reliability in enterprise-critical workflows.\n\n30–90 Days (The \"Scale\" Phase)\n\nMulti-tenancy & Governance: Architecting robust RLS, tenant isolation, and audit-log policies that make our system impenetrable.\n\nAgent Orchestration: Scaling our agents to handle increasing complexity, decision-trees, and cross-functional enterprise workflows.\n\nProduct Velocity: Shipping features that customers don't just use, but rely on for their daily operations.\n\nThe Stack\nWe favor high-velocity, modern tooling:\n\nFrontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, shadcn/ui.\n\nBackend/Agentic: Supabase (Postgres, RLS), Edge Functions (Deno/TS), pg_cron.\n\nAI/Integration: Claude/Anthropic (via secure APIs), SAP S/4HANA (OData).\n\nWorkflow: Trunk-based development, CI/CD, and a relentless focus on high-leverage code.\n\nWho You Are\n\nAI-First Engineer: You have experience moving LLM-based features from \"cool demo\" to \"production-grade reliability.\" You understand the pain of latency, token costs, and hallucination control.\n\nHigh Agency: You thrive in \"Founder Mode\"—you are comfortable with ambiguity, can context-switch between debugging an edge function and discussing enterprise security, and you love shipping.\n\nEnterprise-Ready: You have a deep respect for \"boring\" engineering—idempotency, retries, secrets hygiene, and observability. You know that enterprise reliability is what unlocks the \"cool\" AI features.\n\nProse as Code: You write excellent documentation, PR descriptions, and READMEs. You communicate your technical decisions clearly.\n\nWhy Join Us?\nThis is a founding team role. You will work directly with founders who have 25+ years of scaling enterprise AI (Seal Software, Evisort, Workday). We are well-funded, moving at breakneck speed, and building a product that is already fundamentally changing how global manufacturers manage their most critical spend.\n\nHow to Apply\nEmail steve.tucker@kodiact.com .\n\nThe \"Shipping\" Proof: Link a repo or describe a system you built from the ground up that actually reached production.\n\nThe \"Sharp\" Question: Ask us one question that challenges our current technical assumptions.\n\nWe move quickly. Expect a clear \"yes\" or \"no\" within three weeks.\n\n#J-18808-Ljbffr","company":"Kodiact","rawCompany":"kodiact","city":"Millbrae","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":true,"createdAt":"2026-06-20T03:50:37.037Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"17-2199.00","title":"Engineers, All Other","slug":"engineers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Founding Engineer","description":"Founding Engineer — Kodiact (AI & Agentic Systems)\nLocation: East Bay (Walnut Creek). 3 days/week in-office (founding team setting).\n\nType: Full-time, Founding Team.\n\nReports to: Steve Tucker (Founder & CEO)\n\nThe Mission\nWe are building Kodiact, an agentic intelligence platform that transforms raw material management from reactive spreadsheets into continuous, autonomous category optimization.
