We are looking for an innovative software engineer who will drive all aspects of the software development life cycle: requirements, design, development, test, and release to customer success.\n\nMust have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Computer Science and 1 year of full-time experience.\n\nThe candidates for this position should be able to perform the following duties:\nModify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance;\nAdvise customer about or to perform maintenance of software system;\nAnalyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system;\nConsult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems;\nDirect software programming and development documentation;\nConfer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects;\nConsult with with customers or other departments on project status, proposal, or technical issues such as software design or maintenance;\nDevelop innovative software in small teams using cutting-edge technologies;\nPerform monitoring and performance tuning;\nCollaborate with program managers and prospects to gather and define requirements;\nDeliver projects on-time and to specification with an appropriate level of quality;\nDevelop automated functional tests;\nSet operations and formulate software requirements;\nCollaborate with technical writers to create customer-relevant documentation;\nDesign, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design;\nStore, retrieve data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements;\nCoordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met;\nObtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs and security needs to determine hardware configuration;\nEssential Skills:\nBasic knowledge of molecular biology;\nCore development C/C++ skills in both Unix/Linux and Windows environment;\nExtended scripting (sh, awk, sed, grep, etc).
