{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ff2c1e041bdbf290a23cfd9e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ff2c1e041bdbf290a23cfd9e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ff2c1e041bdbf290a23cfd9e","title":"Speech Pathologist","description":"SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTSchool/Department: MARKHAM, ROBERT C ELEMENTARYCity & Zip:\nPOMPANO BEACH, FL, US, 33060\nRequisition #: 10391Posting Closing Date: Until FilledSchool Year: 2024-2025POSITION GOAL\nTo apply the principles, practice and methods related to the identification and treatment of communication disorders to the development and implementation of speech-language therapy programs for students.\nESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Speech-Language Pathologist shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below:\nUse standardized screening tests and other methods to identify students with potential speech and language disorders.\nDevelop an efficient referral procedure to respond to requests for services by teachers, parents and others.\nSelect, administer and analyze diagnostic assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.\nComply with the state and district procedures to determine students eligible for speech and language therapy services.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary teams and conferences for the benefit of students.\nUse diagnostic information as well as other educationally relevant information to develop an individual education plan (iep) and recommend speech and language therapy services\nProvide an array of speech and language therapy services to students based on their individual needs.\nContinuously evaluate the progress of students receiving speech and language therapy services.\nRecommend reevaluation procedures for students to determine the need for continued speech and language therapy services or dismissal.\nSelect, use and maintain materials, equipment or supplies needed to provide a speech and language therapy program.\nProvide training to other school staff, parents and the community about the goals of the speech and language therapy program.\nParticipate in continuing education to maintain professional skills.\nCollaborate with teachers and parents for the benefit of students.\nCommunicate with outside agencies for the benefit of students.\nDirect the activities of speech-language assistants to implement specified program services.\nKeep accurate and current records on students.\nCooperate with district, other administrators and support personnel for the benefit of students.\nConform to all rules and regulations that may be prescribed by the state and the school board.\nPerform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The school Board of Broward County.\nParticipate successfully in the training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to the assignments.\nReview current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.\nEnsure adherence to good safety procedures.\nFollow federal and state laws, as well as school board policies.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nAn earned master's degree in speech pathology; Florida state certification in speech-language impaired.\nPermit the School Board to hire Bachelor level personnel to meet the school district's critical need necessary to serve the needs of students requiring Speech-Language services.\nThe Board will consider individuals eligible for a temporary certificate in speech-language impaired who agree to enroll in and remain in good standing in a graduate program of study leading to a Master's degree in speech-language pathology, unless prohibited by changes in state statute.\nComputer skills as required for the position.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nBilingual skills preferred.\nSIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purposePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nLight work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.\nTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT\nSalary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
