Permits can vary from municipality to municipality, so the Permit Coordinator must organize each municipality requirement to ensure each project is compliant. This position monitors the review process to ensure that all reviews are completed within designated timeframes and provides follow-up communication with permit applicants to guide them through the permit process. This is a highly technical position that requires knowledge and understanding of the residential and commercial permitting process and contractor licensing regulations.\nExamples of Duties\n\nAdvises customers of laws and ordinances regulating the issuance of permits and contractor licensing.\nReviews applications for completeness to ensure that it meets all applicable laws and ordinances for submittal.\n\nServes as the liaison between permit applicants and reviewing agencies and monitors permit applications going through the permit process.\n\nCommunicates with applicants and other departments and agencies regarding review deadlines, questions, permit holds and releases.
