The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality, and R&D\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise and mentor a team of measurement engineers and programmers providing technical guidance and leadership.\nConduct performance evaluations, identify training needs and develop the technical capabilities of the team.\nSet clear objectives for the team that align with plant production and engineering organizational goals.\nA hands-on supervisor that designs, develops and implements advanced testing methods, for glass measurement equipment such as interferometers, raman spectroscopy, FTIR’s, birefringence and others.\nEstablish and refine metrology procedures to ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards.\nOversee the testing of customer samples and manage special tests that require advanced methodologies.\nApply scientific, mathematical, and statistical techniques to improve measurement accuracy and process control.\nWork closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to address technical challenges and align measurement systems with product requirements.\nPresent technical information, project updates and process improvement initiatives to management and stakeholders.\nExperiences/Education - Required\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (optical, mechanical, electrical, computer or related fields), physics or related discipline.\nMinimum 3yrs experience supervising and developing technical teams or program management.\nMinimum 5yrs experience of metrology, programming, process control or data analysis.\nDesire to work in manufacturing environment\nProficiency in engineering software and tools for data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex technical challenges.\nExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nUS Citizenship required\nIn order to comply with Corning’s government contract requirements at this location, if you receive an offer of employment for this position, you will need to provide documentation of your U.S. citizen status.\n\nThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.\n\nThe range for this position is $131,667.00 - $181,043.00 assuming full time status.
