Operates machines or equipment, setting up and adjusting factors such as temperature, pressure, flow, and material reactions. Manually controls the unit or operates it via a control system. Runs up and shuts down production facilities, including product changeover activities. Cleans and decontaminates equipment. Maintains housekeeping of the workplace. Drives forklifts. Fills and takes over tank wagons. Conducts routine analytics and takes samples. Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs with the technical team. Documents and communicates work results during shift handovers.\n\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:\n\nThe primary responsibilities of the role are to:\n\nGain experience across the site through multiple rotations to understand site operation and collaborate with unit technicians and leadership to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.\nAssist operations in evaluating and achieving unit performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, operability, and cost, subject to supervisory review.\nGain experience in small and large project scope development and implementation – interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines (e.g. process control, project engineering, environmental and utility services operations, and process development)\nTrack and monitor process/unit key performance indicators\nParticipate with investigations of unit performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions\nMaintain and develop unit operating documentation (e.g. standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval)\nCollaborate on execution of plant trials directed at enhancing unit performance\nEngage in continued development of self with peer coaching and constructive feedback.\nSupport Site and Unit Production System improvements, OnePSS\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).\nHave a working knowledge of Engineering tools and software and the ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, line drawings, P&ID and schematics.\nAbility to express ideas and information orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.\nAbility to work well in a team environment and inclusive culture.\nAbility to correctly analyze problems and think independently.\nAbility to evaluate and select alternatives based on realistic limits and different perspectives, understand the full implication of actions before proceeding.\nAbility to consistently motivate yourself, take calculated risks, make timely decisions, and improve results.\nAbility to effectively manage changing situations and maintain composure in pressure or conflict situations.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience in internship or co-op work in a related industry.\nGPA of 3.0 or above at the time of graduation.\nAbility to work a rotatating schedule.\n\nThis posting will expire on January 1st, 2027.\n\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $54000-81000 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
