Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. This role is vital in delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting the overall operation of our restaurant. Previous host/hostess experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in customer service are highly valued. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression Manage reservation bookings and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Escort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements to optimize restaurant flow Handle guest inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and hospitality Maintain a clean and organized host stand area Coordinate with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure timely seating and service Address guest concerns promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and foster positive guest relations Support the restaurant team in maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes guest loyalty Qualifications Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous Excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and handle busy periods gracefully Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus but not required Professional appearance and friendly demeanor Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 45 per week Work Location: In person
