This position is responsible for safely transporting materials and finished products to and from customers and vendors throughout the *North Bay and South Bay areas*.\n\nYou will operate a company *box truck*, make scheduled deliveries and pickups, and represent METALfx professionally when interacting with customers and vendors.\n\nWhen you are not on the road, you will work alongside our Shipping & Receiving team preparing products for shipment.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n* *4×10 work schedule* – four 10-hour workdays\n* *Home every night – no overnight travel*\n* Company box truck\n* Local/regional routes throughout the North and South Bay\n* Opportunity to work independently while being part of a team\n* A safety-focused work environment\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\n* Safely operate a company box truck to transport materials and finished products to customers and vendors.\n* Make scheduled deliveries and pickups throughout the North Bay and South Bay areas.\n* Verify loads against shipping documents and ensure shipments are accurate.\n* Obtain and verify delivery and pickup receipts and required documentation.\n* Load and unload materials and products and assist others with loading and unloading.\n* Properly secure cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.\n* Plan and follow efficient routes to complete daily deliveries and pickups.\n* Maintain communication with the Shipping Supervisor/Manager regarding delivery instructions, schedules, and changes.\n* Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with customers, vendors, and other employees.\n* Perform required vehicle safety inspections and maintain accurate inspection, fuel, and mileage logs.\n* Conduct daily inspections of tires, lights, brakes, fluids, and other vehicle safety equipment.\n* Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly and perform minor roadside repairs when appropriate.\n* Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the company vehicle.\n* When not driving, assist the Shipping & Receiving team with palletizing, wrapping, inspecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment.\n* Follow all company safety procedures and applicable transportation regulations.\n* Perform other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n* Valid California Driver License and satisfactory driving record.\n* Previous professional driving or delivery experience preferred.\n* Experience operating a box truck is preferred.\n* Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.\n* Professional and courteous when interacting with customers and vendors.\n* Ability to work independently and manage daily delivery schedules.\n* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.\n* Ability to read and understand shipping documents, maps, and simple written instructions.\n* Good communication and problem-solving skills.\n* Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.\n* Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.\n* Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment physical.\n* Must be at least 24 years of age and meet all company vehicle insurance requirements, including an acceptable driving record.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nThis position involves driving for extended periods as well as loading and unloading materials.\n\nThe employee must be able to:\n\n* Sit for extended periods while driving.\n* Frequently lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.\n* Load, unload, carry, push, pull, and secure materials as necessary.\n* Occasionally walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\n* Frequently use hands to handle, grasp, and operate vehicle controls and equipment.\n* See clearly at near and far distances, maintain peripheral vision, judge depth and distance, and adjust focus.\n\nWork Environment\n\nThis position works both indoors in a manufacturing/shipping environment and outdoors on public roadways. The employee will regularly be exposed to varying weather conditions and highway traffic.
