Logistics Supervisor
Responsibilities
This is a supervisory leadership position. The Logistics Supervisor supports the Production Manager by managing and monitoring daily operations by implementing cost effective and efficient processes through direct reports and in conjunction with management direction. This position is also responsible for training, coaching, and supporting other team members in the Logistics Department. The Logistics Supervisor assists in interviewing and recommends selection of new hires. In addition, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for ensuring employee adherence to the company's Quality Management System.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Administer personnel performance management
Assess current department needs and makes recommendations for future department needs
Interview and recommend new hires
Maintain record of workload activities as per established procedures
Investigate customer complaints and respond accordingly
Maintains the departments metrics and updates accordingly
Makes proposals for the budget and maintains compliance
Operational Responsibilities:
Participate in projects and meetings related to logistical solutions including on-time delivery for both shipping and receiving, Kanban, warehouse layout, and flow of product
Inventory control through cycle counts, inventory turns, obsolete inventory, new inventory locations, inventory movement, and inventory adjustments
Monitor and schedule maintenance for logistic equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required
BA/BS in business or related discipline (preferred)
2 - 5 years shipping/receiving experience
Effectively communicates with others
Effectively organizes and prioritizes work with attention to detail
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
ERP systems experience required
Demonstrates problem solving skills
Demonstrated supervisory experience
Ability to make recommendations on budget, capital equipment, and inventory
Manage quality shipments and inventory, cost safety, and schedule to meet company goals
