This position is responsible for developing processes and techniques required for operation of the production of manufacturing facilities, development of products, or support of corporate initiatives. The Process Engineer position will be based at our Research and Development facility in Dallas, TX. Must be able to relocate.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nHands on development and optimization of a pilot scale solvent extraction process for recovery of critical materials and metals.\nAbility to provide input into the design and operation of a production facility.\nCarry out independent development/research and act as an investigator and project leader.\nPerform statistical and data driven analysis.\nAssist in the designing, developing, and delivering a range of programs to transfer knowledge including practical skills, methods and techniques.\nEncourage the development of innovative approaches to the design and delivery of new processes, and ensure that process designs and delivery comply with the quality and standards and regulations of the department, group and industry.\nAssist in the development and implementation of product and/or research strategy.\nAssist with product/research activity in the subject including determining relevant research objectives and preparing research proposals.\nSeek practical application of research findings.\nUpdate knowledge and understanding in the field of specialism.\nDisseminate conceptual and complex ideas to internal audiences using appropriate media and methods to promote understanding.\nDevelop internal and external networks to foster collaboration and share information and ideas, promoting both the subject and the group.\nAssist in promoting the work of the department in the subject area both nationally and internationally.\nAct as a leader, supervising the works of others, for example in development /research teams, projects, etc.\nEnsure that staff are suitably qualified to work within their own area.\nFoster inter-disciplinary team working.\nDevelop and communicate a clear vision of the unit’s strategic direction.\nProvide first line support for colleagues, referring them to sources if further help is required.\nMonitor the allocation of resources within own area of responsibility.\nInitiate new and original solutions to problems, and resolve problems affecting the delivery of technology in accordance with regulations.\nBalance the competing pressures of research, knowledge transfer, administrative demands, and deadlines.\n\nPerformance Objectives\nThe solutions Process Engineer will assist to organize, manage, and plan complex lithium recycling projects for the organizations research, development and plant implementation efforts.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in technical field, preferably with chemical, mineral/mining or mechanical engineering background. Experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgical processes. Advanced degrees also considered.\nKnowledge and/or training courses specific for this position:\nKnowledge of solvent extraction processes with at least 2 years of hand on experience.\nHighly motivated, independent and hands-on approach to problem solving.\nTravel of up to approximately 20%\nAbility to think strategically and offer suggestions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential.\nComputer skills including MS Office Suite are required.\nPhysical Requirements & Work Environment\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
