This role involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to monitor construction activities, conduct inspections, and verify compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nAssists in developing and implementing quality management systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.\n\nCollaborates with project teams to establish quality objectives and oversees quality assurance activities.\n\nConducts regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensures adherence to quality standards.\n\nManages and resolves quality issues in a timely and efficient manner.\n\nPrepares detailed quality reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.\n\nMaintains up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring all projects meet necessary compliance requirements.\n\nCoordinates with multiple departments, including project management and engineering, to support quality initiatives.\n\nProvides training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and procedures.\n\nFosters strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.\n\nAssists in preparing for audits by regulatory bodies and clients, ensuring all construction activities comply with legal and contractual requirements.\n\nParticipates in team and Owner meetings; provides summary updates of status of the quality program.\n\nMentors more junior staff.\n\nOther special projects as assigned.\n\nTECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED\n\nSolid understanding of three phase QC.\n\nStrong understanding of Built-In Quality.\n\nProven knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO, HCAI, DSA, NAVFAC/USACE CQM,).\n\nAdvanced knowledge of MS Office and Quality Management software. Ability to learn new software quickly.\n\nStrong understanding of Jurisdictional process and compliance.\n\nProven understanding of applicable codes, standards, and compliance requirements.\n\nExperience managing close out and commissioning of projects.\n\nCapable of analyzing data, identifying trends, and offering insights into Quality improvements.\n\nBEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED\n\nThe ability to effectively lead, develop and mentor more junior staff while building and maintaining team morale.\n\nWorking level communication skills. Ability to address an audience of various sizes and effectively communicate his/her message and ideas. Ability to write clear and concise thoughts in a professional manner.\n\nWorking level knowledge of decision quality and use of sound judgement.\n\nWorking level customer focus and the ability to work cohesively with others.\n\nPossesses awareness, ability, and humility to escalate issues or conflicts with minimal Project Manager involvement.\n\nAbility to build strong business relationships and tap into personal networks as needed.\n\nStrong initiative and accountability for work deliverables.\n\nExhibits commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring transparency in quality processes.\n\nAbility to identify and address safety issues.\n\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\n\nBachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent preferred.\n\nTypically, a minimum of five years’ experience in quality management, quality assurance as a Building Inspector, Inspector of Record (IOR) or special inspector with a minimum ICC master special Inspector certification with experience in both public and private sector projects.\n\nCertification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), International Code Council (ICC) or NAVFAC CQM or ICC Combination Inspector, HCAI Class A IOR, DSA Class 1 or 2 IOR certification is preferred.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\n\nPerformance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud\n\nThis is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.
