Primary duties would include shuttling trucks, jumpstarting trucks,\r\nforklifting trucks, fueling trucks with diesel and DEF, staging equipment and\r\nminor technical repairs/duties such as disconnecting and reconnecting battery\r\ncables.\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\r\nExperience with operating vehicle and heavy equipment in a transportation\r\nenvironment preferred.\r\nA valid driver's license is preferred but not required.\r\nBecome forklift certified through the ATS onsite training program.\r\nMust be able to operate all yard related equipment.\r\nMust be self- motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.\r\nMust be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects and work\r\nconditions.\r\nGood decision-making, problem-solving, attention to detail and customer\r\nservice skills (internal/external).\r\nExperience using basic mechanic hand tools to make minor repairs on trailer\r\nequipment.\r\nBasic understanding of tractor/trailer air systems.\r\nWorking knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and\r\nOutlook).\r\nEffective communication skills (written, listening and verbal).\r\nMust be able to work a flexible work schedule when needed and work overtime\r\nas needed.\r\nWilling and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nMove trucks and forklifts as needed.\r\nJumpstart trucks and stage them to proper repair areas.\r\nForklift trucks into the service/inspection bays as needed.\r\nFuel trucks with Diesel and DEF as needed and add fuel supplement when\r\ninstructed.\r\nRemove trucks from the RGN's when applicable. Move all unmanned trucks\r\nneeding inspection to the designated inspection parking stalls.\r\nPerform full truck and trailer inventory on a daily basis or more frequently\r\nas needed.\r\nWork closely with the Safety Lane Service Leader for daily instruction on\r\nyard duties and setting priorities to be completed each day.\r\nEnsure trucks are plugged into the outlets as needed and disconnect\r\nbatteries as needed when instructed.\r\nStage FS trucks for inspection when required and be able to communicate\r\neffectively to the prep inspection supervisor when faced with unforeseen\r\nchallenges.\r\nWork in conjunction with other yard staff to ensure forklifts are being\r\nmaintained and inspected daily.\r\nWork in varying outdoor conditions including the extreme cold and hot\r\nthroughout the year.\r\nProperly lockout tag out any trucks as needed.\r\nMaintain a clean and organized yard.
