The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural repair and maintenance, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality.\r\nThis position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX, with full relocation provided (details below).\r\nPay: $36-$42 hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities.\r\nWhat You'll Do:\r\n\r\nPerform structural assembly, repair and modifications of Telecommunication Satellites, structures or other structures as required to drawing specifications.\r\nRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to determine repair and modification requirements.\r\nUse hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks accurately.\r\nInspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.\r\nCollaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve processes.\r\nMaintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.\r\nAdhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.\r\n\r\nWhat you bring\r\n\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\r\nMinimum of 5 years of experience as a structural mechanic in aerospace.\r\nProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.\r\nStrong knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in structural repair and maintenance.\r\nSpecific skills in riveting, drilling, and fastener installation\r\nSurface Prep for Bonding\r\nIncremental drilling for hold size for\r\n\r\nMechanical Assembly and Torque Specifications\r\n\r\n\r\nClear understanding and demonstration of:\r\n\r\nScrews\r\nRivets\r\n\r\nWet Bonding\r\n\r\n\r\nLaser tracking and Metrology a plus\r\n\r\nKnowledge of different types of rivets, including solid rivets, blind rivets, Hi-Lock and Hi-Lite, cherry max rivets, and their installation requirements.\r\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\r\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\r\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\r\n\r\nPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:\r\n\r\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of time\r\nAbility to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks\r\nAbility to lift heavy objects and work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and crouching\r\nAbility to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing\r\nAbility to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling\r\nAbility to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 50 pounds as required\r\nAbility to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment\r\nAbility to work in and around tight or confined spaces\r\nHands-on work with flight hardware, test setups, and precision instruments\r\nAvailability for extended shifts during launch campaigns\r\nAbility to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber)\r\n\r\nBenefits: (Eligibility dependent)\r\n\r\nMedical, dental, vision\r\n401(k) (pre-tax & Roth)\r\nLife insurance, disability coverage\r\nHSA, transportation benefits\r\nEmployee Assistance Program\r\nPTO / sick leave\r\nCompetitive salary\r\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\r\nRetirement plan\r\nPaid time off and holidays\r\nOpportunities for professional development and advancement\r\n\r\nRelocation Support (If You Accept)\r\n\r\nUp to $5,000 in temporary housing (first 3 months)\r\n$1,050/month stipend to support living arrangements after 1st working month on an ongoing basis\r\n\r\nIf you are open to relocating to Midland, this can be a career changing, and life changing, move into the high-tech aerospace world offering a new skill set and job security in a very similar environment that will soon feel like home.
