Job Description (General Summary)
Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Kitter. The Kitter is responsible for ensuring all required materials, both fabricated and purchased, are accurately prepared, staged, and delivered to the production floor in alignment with the production schedule. This role supports coordination between materials management and manufacturing operations, ensuring that production teams have the right parts, in the right quantities, at the right time.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
Pull, verify, and kit parts for production based on work orders and bills of material
Confirm all components are present, correct, and in good condition before sending to production
Stage and deliver kits/materials to the correct production areas on time
Track material movement between staging areas and production lines to support accurate usage
Keep kitting and staging areas clean, organized, and clearly labeled (5S)
Handle and store materials to prevent damage, loss, or mix-ups
Spot and report shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues, and suggest ways to improve material flow and accuracy
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, materials handling, or production support
Valid driver's license
Ability to read and interpret work orders, BOMs, and part numbers
Ability to follow instructions and work within established processes
Basic communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to learn and operate warehouse equipment
Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in a production-floor environment (not just warehouse)
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, inventory systems, or RF scanning
Forklift or material handling equipment certification (if applicable)
