It is a combination of the following jobs: Parts Identifier, Assembler.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nWill utilize blueprints and production planning instructions to perform marking, identification, trimming, cutting, drilling, and assembly of composite/non-metal parts.\nMust be able to perform identification operations on all product lines, assemblies, and sub-assemblies; follow specifications and procedures pertaining to identification; read blueprints.\nMust be accurate with the use of numbers.\nFamiliar with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and able to perform data entry.\nMust be able to perform manual identification using stencils and rubber stamps, including stencil identification on metal tags in accordance with drawing specifications.\nMust be able to utilize the video jet identification machine and perform cleaning operations.\nPerform operations such as curing and trimming insulation materials, applying plastic impregnated fiberglass fabric and metal to semi-finished blankets, cutting materials to pattern, hand lay-up, and wrapping insulation blankets onto ducting.\nDevelop patterns for layup to produce parts to specific drawing requirements.\nOperate curing ovens, hand/power tools, and other machinery related to composite fabrication.\nWill work with materials such as coated fabrics, rubber, adhesives, cements, plastics, and other materials related to composite fabrication.\nWill make void-free laminates and perform acceptable repairs to parts per blueprint specifications or planning requirements.\nWill make and perform tool setups as needed.\nWill perform material use calculation and accurate tracking for inventory record keeping.\nWill perform auxiliary operations such as handling/moving parts, tooling and materials, tool stripping, spray painting, and secondary wrapping operations.\nResponsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.\nRecord all traceability information of material used and log on shop travelers.\nWill maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.\nThis job description is not all inclusive of all duties. Other job duties consistent with the Composite Associate 1 position may be assigned.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nPrevious Composites fabrication experience preferred and may be substituted for education requirement.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
