The OpenSSF is committed to collaboration and working both upstream and with existing communities to advance open source security for all.Role SummaryThe DevSecOps Engineer supports the day-to-day security and operational reliability of the Akrites vulnerability pipeline and OSS-SIRT infrastructure. This includes operational, design, and strategic decision-making for the SIRT tooling suite as a whole. This role absorbs and addresses the operational and security toil sustained by the growth of the tooling and its adoption.Key ResponsibilitiesSecure the infrastructure — Ensure high security hardening standards and procedures are maintained throughout the SIRT tooling pipeline; develop and monitor security signals for the tooling infrastructureMaintain and operate — Manage database infrastructure, APIs and ingestion pipelines, and CI/CD systemsEnsure SLAs are met — Monitor system health, performance, and availability; support backups, disaster recovery, and access controlsScale with growth — Assist with scaling infrastructure to support increased usage; implement infrastructure-as-code and operational automationRequired Qualifications5–10 years in DevSecOps, Security and/or SRE, or platform operations rolesExperience securing and running production systems with APIs and data pipelinesFamiliarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and CI/CD workflows on GitHubPreferred ExperienceOpen source project operationsSecurity-sensitive environmentsExperience supporting data-heavy or federated systemsAdditional InformationSalary: $170,000 – $185,250 USDAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.The Linux Foundation is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
